I can almost see it That dream I'm dreaming but There's a voice inside my head sayin, You'll never reach it, Every step I'm taking, Every move I make feels Lost with no direction My faith is shaking but I Got to keep trying Got to keep my head held high There's always going to be another mountain I'm always going to want to make it move Always going to be an uphill battle, Sometimes you going to have to lose, Ain't about how fast I get there, Ain't about what?s waiting on the other side It's the climb The struggles I'm facing, The chances I'm taking Sometimes...
Walking a alternative route to the claim as part of an operations plan and proposal to open a closed road. We are doing this as a back up while fighting/discussion with the new land owner 1.5 miles below are claim and his decision to no longer 'give' us access. The issue is complex but despite having a valid legal claim on a named and numbered road 120 years old, money and lawyers have been used to limit access in the past. Just ask some of Ted Turner's neighbors. We want to be ready for that eventuality.
All of our markers are missing from the upper claim which makes us think that foul deeds might be afoot. Because our claims have been proven out they do attract more attention than some of those around us. Also a huge gold operation is ramping up in the neighboring draw. They likely want the claims as a buffer. It could be intentional, it could be an over-site or it could be an arrogant attempt to get our claims from us. It also could be elk. Who knows?
The Snyder is a massive mine site with a huge waste rock pile spanning 60 feet wide and 60 feet high. The waste pile comes from the two large adits on the claim that have naturally collapsed. There is a stream for placer operations, two cabins, and a large compressor on the site.
This is the work-horse of our claim, processing gravel for the washer and concentrator. If you are going to look for stones this is an essential piece of equipment.

There’s the Taylor Creek Mine, which is a pit mine at the top of the hill, historically worked for Gold, and the Larrigon Mine, which was a series of massive drifts and tunnels, working primarily gold.
An epic video of gold prospecting and claim-staking in Montana
One of the most famous ghost towns in Montana. Elkhorn, while the majority of the town is private, if you climb the steep roads to the canyon walls around the town, you will find one of the largest, most productive gold mines in the entire area. The road to Elkhorn Skyline is steep, rough and rocky, but worth the journey. The district was known for gold and silver production up into the 1930’s. Surveyors found many samples of rich free-milling gold in the waste rock just outside the mine entrances. The mine was worked for the highest grade of gold that could be removed economically (due to location of mine) this left a lot of gold silver pyrites and copper in the waste rock, purely because it was of lower value. Surveyors estimate “Low grade gold” will likely assay 1-2 ounces/ton.
The New Deal Mine is quite old but well documented in its production. There’s extensive gold in high grade shipping ore around the old portal and the gold inside the mine is going to be all free-milling and can be high graded once the mine has been opened.
Jonquil is a very remote claim, as evidenced by the untouched cabin and overgrown road, which is still flat and navigable. The estimated workings of the mine are likely 1,000 or more feet. Gold and silver were historically shipped from this site. www.goldrushexpeditions.com
The Cornflower mine is located in an area known for the Yogo Blue Sapphire. This gem can only be found in a small part of Montana, making it extremely rare and extremely valuable. On the Cornflower claim, there are two buildings and a series of pipes that appear to have been used for washing materials in vats. There is a possible collapsed prospect on a small waterfall above the buildings.
